The Curriculum

With consideration to the literal, practical, spiritual and developmental needs of our students, the Madrasah offers a comprehensive five-year Aalimah course.

Languages and Medium of instruction:

Arabic: 

Since the original sources of Islam are in Arabic, it is important that the student acquire proficiency in this language. This will help to read, write and comprehend the Islamic literature in Arabic, whether it be the Noble Qur’an, Hadith or any classical Islamic work. Incompetence in Arabic is a serious disadvantage to any Islamic scholar. To aim for higher goals in Islamic services and embark on this mission more confidently, the student should acquire an excellent command over the Arabic language. In view of this, the Madrasah emphasizes on Arabic upon its students utilizing various different language tools.

English: 
Islam is a universal religion, and its universality can be rightly asserted through communication with the masses in the languages they understand best. Our duty is to convey the message to all and sundry, and then refer to Allah for guidance. In order to efficiently convey the message of Islam to the English speaking communities, this language has become a must for every Islamic scholar. Without it, one will be unable to impart the teachings of Islam to a many who are certainly thirsty for it. Hence, English too is given notable attention at the Madrasah.

Urdu: 
There is no denial a great deal of Islamic literary work has been authored in the Urdu language by luminaries in the Indo-Pak sub-continent. After Arabic, Urdu comes first in its contribution to Islamic literature in contemporary times. To ensure that the students are not deprived of the enormous Islamic legacy in the Urdu language, this language too is taught at the Madrasah as an independent subject. Upon completion of the course at the Madrasah, the student is able to read, write and comprehend Urdu without any difficulty.

Tarbiyyah:
Islamic discipline is the backbone of any institution which is in accordance with the Islamic code. Knowledge enlightens students and regulates their practices. However, it is through Tarbiyah that they become exemplary to the world. Thus, knowledge and Tarbiyah are complimentary and supportive to each other. For this significant purpose Tarbiyah programmes are conducted regularly throughout the course.

Research:
Research work enhances the study of students. It stimulates his thoughts and acquaints him with the vast literature outside his syllabus. Through research he can derive benefit from reference books, thus prepare thesis on any given topic. For this too, the Madrasah provides time and guidelines to the students via its library.

Subjects:

The course is very comprehensive and covers from the basic language essentials up to the classical sciences of Tafseer, Hadith, Fiqh, Usul Fiqh, Nahw, Sarf and Adab. Over the five year period, students are developed from one stage to the next in an all-inclusive manner. They finally graduate after having studied the major works in the subjects mentioned below:

Grammar – Morphology, Syntax, Rhetoric, Etymology
Literature – Classical Texts, Contemporary Works, Poetry, Modern Terminology, Range of authors
Approach – Classical Arabic, Indo-Pak, Contemporary University

ISLAMIC STUDIES

Qur’an – Reading, Translation, Exegesis, Sciences of Understanding and Interpretation
Texts such as: Tafseer ibn Kathir and Tafseer Jalalain are included in the Syllabus .

Hadith – Reading, Translation, Interpretation, Principles of Grading.
Texts such as the Sihaah Sittah which include Saheeh Al-Bukhari, and Mishkaat.

Islamic Jurisprudence – Principles of Law, Advanced Islamic Jurisprudence.
Texts include Al-Hidayah and Al-Qudoori
